I was on a date with a girl, and i made the stupid mistake of letting her pick a location I had never been to but she frequents often. (I know, first mistake.)

We walked around, and she ended up picking the stores and restaurant we went into. She also ended up guiding the conversation (to her interests which I was not too familiar with some of the stuff). It didn't take long for me to feel uncomfortable.

Then, we ran into one of her acquaintances. I tried to not be an awkward sack of shit who just stands there and listens, but they were talking of yoga events that I don't know anything about, and I couldn't change the conversation.

What are you supposed to do when you end up in a situation like this, she has control, and you don't have any background information on what she is talking about? FYI, she lost interest in me before the end of the date...
