This is a long post. Skip to the last two paragraphs if you're an impatient boy like me.

Seven months ago. You're there. Hot, sweaty, Texas. Me and a couple of buddies were at... let's call it The Event. There was lots of noise, plenty of people, tons of food and PLENTY attractive women (Not a bar. This was daytime). My buddy (He'll be Justin) had introduced us to Simple Pickup on Youtube about a month prior, and we all were cooling off under some trees.

Justin brings up Project GO. For those who don't know, that's where a friend points to a girl and tells you to go talk to her on the spot, otherwise you do some form of punishment... then go talk to her. No outs here. Now me and my other three friends (all guys) were talking up about the idea, but were shaking in anxiety. WE HAD NEVER COLD APPROACHED A GIRL BEFORE... EVER. We talk and talk about it, and nothing happens. Whatever. We were terrified.

Personally, I've never had a problem with myself. I'm very strong, not half bad looking if I say so (I didn't believe this then), and hold conversations better than your common man. But this? This was a whole different story. I remembered back to eight grade while we were talking to a time when I tried talking to a group of girls that I saw (I was forced to talk to them by two of the friends that were with me at The Event, so it wasn't actually a approach, but me getting literally pushed into it). What happened in eight grade scarred me. I said "you're cute, can I have your number?" to the group collectively, hoping one of them would bite and say yes. "No." I walked away in shame, never wanting to do this again. My fear of rejection was made into a cancer that day.

Back to The Event. I was sick of not ever hanging out with attractive girls and holding myself back. My friend mentions that a girl was cute, and I stop everything to go talk to her. About half way there, I simply knew I would get rejected.

Fear.

I stopped, said under my breath, "Let's see if I can't get REJECTED here." So I walk up, say a pick up line, she looks at me like I'm stupid, and makes it known she doesn't care to talk to me. I WON!!! I got rejected! This was a victory for me, because that's what I truly was going for.

Then it hit me: Rejection is awesome. I had more fun then from simply having the balls to walk up to an attractive girl TO GET REJECTED than I had the entire time at The Event. I did this again, trying to get rejected. I did, laughed, and walked off. Next time I said a stupid line that she didn't get, saw her confusion, and rejected her, because I knew I would be rejected next. I lost all fear of rejection that day (And came home with three numbers from really attractive girls).

I was scared of approaching girls. I feared rejection from an emotional scar I got in my childhood. I solved this by twisting rejection to make it work in my favor. I sought it out, and because of that, I realized that the worst that could happen to me was rejection that I had once sought and enjoyed.

Long story short, if you fear rejection, approach a few girls trying to get rejected, whether from the start or when you ask for her number, and celebrate when you do. By doing this, you come to realize that rejection is not something to fear, but something to find humor in. THE WORST THING THAT CAN HAPPEN IS YOU WALK AWAY WITH A FUNNY STORY. Go out, seek rejection on a few approaches, and realize there's nothing to fear. You can get rid of AA this way and everyday rejections mean very little to you.
