Say a plate texts you to meet up but you don’t want to or you want them to ask for a different time. Do you just say No/I’m not free/etc. or do you give them a reason? (eg. I’m doing xxx)

In my opinion, specifying what you’re doing shows that you have other stuff/people going on, but just saying no leaves room for mystery. Not sure which is more effective.
