I tried going out tonight starting out completely sober. To begin with I was having a lot of trouble. I just kind of sat/stood there (at a college party) and, even after being introduced to a few girls, just didn't have much to say and found it hard to connect with anyone or have any meaningful conversations. Then I started to drink a bit. I didn't even get that drunk, but after not too long I was already have a great time (not too surprising as alcohol usually has this effect) and I was talking to girls and other guys laughing, playing a bit of pong, and generally just being myself and enjoying life. I usually do alright with the girls after a few drinks. I'm not any Cassanova by any means but I can get along alright and at least get a few numbers. But I'm having so much more trouble just doing this sober. I was hoping someone could give me some tips on how to loosen up a bit without the help of drinking and just be happy with myself and not care when I'm completely sober because I realize that I obviously can't always rely on drink and certainly have no plans of being alcoholic. So any help you can offer would be much appreciated. Thank you so much and sorry if this was too long.
