I’ve been really wanting to write this for a while. It’s been a year and 4 months now since I started improving myself, and all of this started here, at Seddit.
My story may be very similar to yours: I wasn’t really popular. nor really a loser. I was one of the people in the ‚grey zone’. I was one of those people not because I was a negative person or unpleasant to be around. I didn’t fully know who I was, and I neglected to accept that I lose certain things, to accept those things without embarrassment.
See, when I was in middle school, I was bullied. Not that much, and it wasn’t a day to day experience, that I would have to run home to avoid the other kids, it was nothing like that. But it did happen every once in a while. The hurtful comments, the rejection of socializing, the bitchy comments. And in high school this continued at the same level. See, I didn’t really know who I was, and if you don’t know who you are, how can you stand up for yourself?
After high school I went to college and here I fell in love with a girl I didn't really know that well. A mind full of wrong ideas of love and a sexual drive influenced by my addiction to pornography resulted in a horrible, indirect rejection. I fucked myself up believing that she was the one for me, and that this is what they would call 'true love'. I wasn’t comfortable with rejection back then, so the one rejection I did have was a horrible experience (even though it wasn’t THAT horrible, but back then it felt like that).
And that’s where Seddit came in.
Seddit is the fundamental brick in the new me. This is where my journey started, and so it will be of yours. You’ll experience hardship, rejection but most of all: the things you’re capable of. I’ve started my own blog where I post short stories (In Dutch, since that is where I’m from, you can still check it out here: http://geweldigfantast.blogspot.nl/)
A few things you do need to know before starting this journey, one of them is books. Not just the PUA books, no every book relevant for self-improvement. Some must-read books are: Models by Mark Manson. This book has become a hype here and for good reasons. It is a great book and I suggest it is the first book you read. This books shows you what interacting with women is really about. This is what we call "Inner Game” No More Mr Nice Guy by Robert Glover. Ever wondered why women never date those guys who are helpful, nice and are willing to go to the end of the world for her? Maybe I’m describing you? This book will help you become independent and make your behavior more attractive to women. Mode One by Alan Currie. I’m currently reading this book right now, and it is definitely a must-read. Alan Currie describes four way of behaving, and teaches you how to "Say what they want to hear, but not expect to hear”. You’ll learn how to say what you think and feel with no remorse, a truly attractive competence if you master this. The Way Of The Superior Man by David Deida. It’s a bit "New-Agey”, but definitely insightful. The title is self-explanatory. The Natural by Richard La Ruina. This might sound a bit strange for the more advanced Sedditors, but I think that only focusing only on Inner Game is too easy. This book is all about "Outer Game”, the actual interaction with girls. For this it is important that your Inner Game is okay, so this isn’t the first thing to start with. These books should be read in this order.
All of these books shouldn’t be read in just one weekend. Read a book, apply the information and once you think you have definitely understood the meaning of the book, then you read the next in the list.
But mostly you need to reflect. Reflect on all of your behaviors. This isn’t just a one hour session things, it is constant. All revelations that you’ll do will be beneficial for your life.
You’ll surely get there mate.
