During my lunch break, I decided to hit the local thrift store because I need supplies for my new office cubicle. As I was walking in, I noticed a good looking brunette, which is rare breed for thrift stores. I didn't pay much attention but as I looked around, she was there. I admit I did hesitate. I said to myself that I would feel horrible letting an opportunity slip by. Plus, it would make her day to hear a compliment. I walked over to her and said that I loved how her hair looks.

She responded very positively, saying she did it herself. I honestly was surprised since it looked really good on her. I then assumed she was a hairstylist, but said she was a biochemist. She continued the conversation by opening up topics, asked me questions about thrifting. Then she asked my name and we introduced ourselves. She mentioned that she dresses with clothes bought at thrift stores, which I do too. After a while, she said she still had to shop around so I asked for her number, which she was very happy to give. I asked with the reason to go to other stores and she would love to hang out during lunch times.

I'm happy that I took the low risk. It's just a number, but I feel good having the ability to approach without getting nervous. Now to see if this pans out to a date outside of thrifting.
