Read up son. Live in that sidebar over there ---->
At least for a few days. Ask questions on what you don't understand.

I actually used to troll through here and I learned a thing or two. Maybe I ought to do it again.

Yup. Another thing that helped me even start to approach was realizing it's a never ending process, there is no end point and there is always something you can improve, or add to yourself and your game. You may reach goals along the way, such as conquering AA. Which was and sort of still is my biggest demon. Conquering AA is the first and probably biggest step in this process. And if you want to take any of the knowledge you will gain from being here you have to check boxes off one at a time. Rome wasn't built in a day.

This is an imperative question to ask yourself: Would you date you? Honestly. If the answer is no, this is a good starting point. If the answer is yes, then why, and how can you make yourself even better? This topic is more or less covered in this sub. Just food for thought.
I posted about what you are concerned with a few months ago, I would recommend reading all of it, as it is tailored to college students.

Honestly right now no. Generally yes but I've honestly let things get to a bad spot I feel. But I will definitely read up on that post. Thanks for commenting!

If you're in the dorms, get to know the people around you. If you're in classes, meet people in discussion group. If you're in the gym, meet new people and try not to be a douche, just be friendly, some people just wanna get a pump on, ya know. Just be friendly. Join clubs/groups. Get out. I would encourage you to be active in meeting people, people who are more often than not interested in meeting others. As soon as you get into a group you're network will expand quickly.
Best of luck! Be friendly!

How do you approach people? Do you approach yourself with a self introduction or do you ask them about something relevant? Or do you not bother at all? Talk to people. More importantly: Have fun while doing it. Make a joke or two. I've seen conversations die or become awkward very quickly because it's obvious that the initiator is forcing themselves. What kind of things do you like and how do you socialize them in a way that's generally relevant? That's for you to figure out
Can you elaborate on the last part. "What kind of things do you like and how do you socialize them in a way, that's generally relevant?" That sounds like something I could/should be improving now

Certainly! Many people have two big problems when it comes to this. 1.) Being too forceful. No one is obligated to care about or see things how you see them. Forcing your opinion, ideas, or interests down someone's throat without hearing or caring about their own will push people away. Alternatively: 2.) Being too passive. If it's obvious that you're not excited about or engaged in your own interests/ideas then its likely others will be bored of it as well.
The best way to approach people this way I've found is to just simply ask their opinion on something that is dear to you at the time. If this doesn't work then counter with something else. And if the second time fails then either leave them be or go with a standard introduction. I encourage this method because it creates an interesting and passionate start to a relationship. Most people are looking for people they can connect to in some way. And of course there will be times when people are completely against that thing you hold dear - and it's likely that you'd be miserable knowing that person. Move on in those cases
