I'm working a bit harder lately to curb some personality flaws I have regarding shutting my mouth and tempering my opinions to be more palatable, however, I wanted to ask y'all a question.

One of my biggest flaws is being a bit blunt. I feel as though people are afraid to hear things directly. I'm a very impartial type of person, I will say hurtful things because sometimes I feel tough love is the best option. I know people's egos get in the way of understanding (as does mine) an opinion that deeply contrasts theirs without sufficient background so I try to set their frame about how I approach things.

I have a friend that's a virgin at 22, he was also born a triplet and was sadly born with cerebral palsy limiting motion in his right leg. He's been on a workout regimen the past several months to get his life in order. I feel it has gone a bit to his head. I slept with a friend of his he had a crush on (he admitted this after I did, I did not know) and now he's saying he found her ugly even though evidence and my recollection point towards the contrary.

I bring this up as he's been having success attracting a few women. He joined a church group at my university (I graduated last year) and he's made a few friends. There's this gent he called a friend that is interested ij a girl he's interested in. Here's the series of events;

  • He admits to Guy that he's into Girl, friend goes to movie with girl at her invitation.
  • Guy tells girl Friend is into her, while they are at a basketball game together.
  • Friend hears about this, girl tells him wants to meet up for talk "it wasn't what it looked like".

I ultimately tell him he's being an idiot going to "talk" with a girl that's clearly setting him into her frame. My reasoning behind this is he owes no explanation, a conversation about his feelings is the boggest attraction killer ever. I've been guilty of this! After pointing this out he says he'll be friends with her anyway, I think he's setting himself to be her dishrag for her dirty dishes.

My friend is acting butthurt over this and his arrogant attitude towards me lately is sincerely bothering me. He's been a true friend to me, but am I wrong for leveling this to him instead of letting him make his own mistakes?

What could I do to help him see this behavior as I am proud of him, but want him to reel himself back in a little bit. I wouldn't say I've been much sucessful despite having sex with 10 girls this past year.
