Hey guys! I'm a long-time lurker, finally giving PUA a real shot.

I dated a girl for 3 years and she ended it, and I lost it. I turned to seddit and PU stuff and had some success, then found a new girl. We dated for 5 months and here's where it gets interesting.

We started dating during college. I was busy and honestly not super into the relationship. She would come over and hang out, we'd have sex and do bf/gf stuff, but you could definitely tell that she was more into me and I was just kinda into her. She knew it too. She gave me all kinds of shit tests from the beginning. One example: she asked me to delete all the pictures of my ex on my Facebook. I said no, she threw a fit, but eventually I got my way and didn't give into her irrationality.

So, as we go on I start to get more into her and realize that she does a lot for me. I start to cave on some things. Example: I still talk to/hangout with an older ex who has always really been more of a friend than anything else. She throws a fit that I talk to her, and this time I cave and tell her I'll stop talking to this girl and basically throw away a friendship for her. Overall I start to become AS invested in the relationship as her, if not more invested.

Then after about a week of this, she breaks up with me. She LITERALLY said this to me when I went to talk things over in person:

"I guess our whole relationship I was trying to get you to love me and as soon as you did I just sort of realized I didn't want to be with you anymore."

What she really meant is she wanted to get me AS invested as her in the relationship or even more invested, and once it happened she lost interest.

This is EXACTLY what Mark Manson's material warned me about and I simply forgot it. I've been back at PU stuff for the last month and a half and have had 3 FC's, 2 that are on going fwb type of relationships.

Trust me when I say, follow Mark Manson's advice. Do not be more invested that the girl you're seeing. This doesn't mean be a fucking douche or anything, just don't give up core beliefs or change yourself to please her. Be a man, stand up for yourself, and know that you're the man.

Keep at it guys and learn from my slip up!

TL;DR Started a relationship barely invested - things were great. Became as invested if not more invested - she broke up with me and stated that exact reason haha.
