Lets get this one sorted once and for all: When is it appropriate to greet a girl with a Hug, Kiss on the cheek, or handshake?

It depends on too many factors, so you just have to make a decision in the moment. Meeting a girl for the first time? Maybe with one girl I go for a handshake. Maybe with another I go for a hug. Maybe with another I go for a casual cheek kiss. Maybe with another, I confidently hold my hand out, pull her in, and gently twirl her. It depends.

These types of questions really aren't that good, because chances are, you won't actually learn from them. It's good that you're asking them, because I mean shit that's how you learn, but eventually you'll realize you're asking the wrong questions.

It's kind of like asking, "when should I do so-and-so martial arts technique?" Well, it really depends on the exact moment that's occurring.

It's kind of like asking, "when should I go for a 3-point shot or a layup?" Well, it depends on the exact situation that's occurring.

There really isn't a formula. And if you're looking for a formula, you're barking up the wrong tree. You can get some general guidelines, but ultimately, the answer is really "it depends".

I always shake hand on first meeting, then hugs for everything after that. Kisses if we've kissed elsewhere/before

It all comes down to social calibration, you develop enough reference points to ascertain whether any of those is "socially appropriate".

There are literally millions of factors whether I would kiss, hug, or hand shake with a girl upon greeting her. For the most part I don't do any of that shit, handshakes seem platonic and business like. Kissing and hugging I wouldn't really consider something I'd use a lot in day game, which is what I usually practice, and get results with.

Here's what I'd do, imagining those situations in my head, the situations are completely dynamic, I just imagined one scenario (they aren't the same as your imaginations)

Fist bump
Head nod
Fist bump
Head nod
Fist bump
Men shake hands, opposites hug

The reason I fist bump is because it's playful, different, and doesn't communicate anything romantic, yet. ;)

I really dont get what the confusion is.....just follow this simple rule

Greet a client with a........handshake

Greet a friend with a........hug

Greet a potential romantic partner with a ............kiss

The difference between the last two is key. If the person you are meeting is uncomfortable with getting a peck on the cheek, then they probably arent ready to have a physical relationship in the first place. BAIL.

I've met a friend of a friend and usually I'll introduce myself something like this. "Hey I'm tshirt48" followed with a smile and I'll go for kind of a playful formal handshake. But if I was taking out a girl on a first date, usually I'll get to her door and just kind of lead her out. I don't hug or anything because it feels too close and a handshake feel way too formal and awkward.
