This is a concept that I don't know if already had a term or not, but is what I'm going to coin it. (For reference, here's how I got the idea for this concept.)

It's a negative thought process that I think is a HUGE factor in developing Oneitis. It's the idea that you try heightening your ego by telling yourself that you can obtain something unachievable, only to put yourself into a deeper hole by taking failure after failure. This leads you to (in relation to woman) putting them on a pedestal.

I am having a hard time getting over this, and I feel like if I slept with her once, I'd be good to go.

This sets yourself up for failure for many reasons. 1.) You're not accepting her as, "not into you" 2.) You're letting your ego get the best of your reasoning ("Ego-Rising") 3.) This will only lead you to putting her on a pedestal.

So for anyone trying to get over Oneitis, or starting to develop it, understand this concept and take action before it's too late.
