Three years? You shouldn't have waited more than three days to show your affection. I hate to tell you this but it's not going to turn out good. She already knows you like her and if she hasn't done anything about it in three years, telling her now isn't going to do much. That being said, you might as well go for it, there's nothing to lose. Lesson learned, and move on.
