Hey, I'm new as well, so take this with a grain of salt. Treat any non face to face means of communication as a tool to set up face to face meets. If logistically, you can't meet for a while, use texts/fb just to keep a girl on your mind with "statement" texts, i.e. ones where you're not looking to start a convo, you're just sending a message to keep yourself on her radar, like "you're on my mind, hope you're enjoying yourself." Maybe send a funny pic relating to a common interest or something you talked about. Don't look for signs of the "friendzone." If you're direct with your intentions, you likely won't end up there. The friendzone seems like the feeling of frustration a man gets when he keeps pursuing a woman who he knows doesn't want him. I'm slowly realizing how powerful the statement "I want you" is in the right context. If the girl is interested in you, it'll turn her on, if not she'll let you know and you can cut your losses quickly.

Like I said, I'm new. I'm basing this from my experiences with few relationships, a lot of fuck ups with girls who were into me and those who weren't, stuff I read, and advice from my psychiatrist. BTW, therapy is really fucking great and I wish more people would suggest it and be open to it.

OHH... don't think of this shit as "games." Think of it as honest communication. There's nothing wrong with being horny. You can't fight 4 billion years of natural selection. Neither can she.

EDIT: I'd appreciate any feedback on my thoughts as well, since I'm sort of in the same boat as OP. Blind leading the blind and all that.

Text game and FB game will only get you so far. If there's no connection face to face then you're both wasting your time texting and all that. I only text to set up dates, or respond to the girl if SHE'S initiating the conversation. (I'll never text a girl every hour asking her "What's up?")

If the conversations are boring and have no sexual reference in any way, expect to be in the friendzone if you can't make it up for it in person.
