I think the general rule here is to not try to go after girls at the gym.

But if you really wanna talk to her you could try to catch her on her way out (don't interrupt someone's workout it's really annoying) or in and just ask her how she got into fitness or why she's interested.

Dont take yourself so goddamn seriously, it'll make you seem creepy. Maybe crack a joke. If you make eye contact while exexercising, smile. They will generally be more receptive if you catch them on the way out, although spotting someone when its actually needed is nice.

It's all in your head

it's harder to vibe in the gym(or give yourself permission) so you often times come off chody when you do try

i would opt for creating a social circle before you try cold approaching women in the gym

that way you can vibe or create a "positive, happy, have fun" feeling so you come off cool to everyone no matter what you do

Is there a stretching area of the gym? At my gym there's an area where girls tend to do stretches. Pretty often there are some girls showing off. If they know you're checking them out and escalate what they're doing, then the odds are on some level they like you're attention and they'll feel flattered if you talk to them. Personally, I've gotten several numbers but I think there's only been one date I got out of it. However, it was with a girl where I literally thought, "There's absolutely no way this girl will be up for it, too beautiful." So I do think that being brave will help, girls seem to like that a lot.

Only in the stretching area. Most women are turned off by being approached at the gym when they're interrupted from the main reason of being there. . Standard rule.

Group exercise classes are about the only place that women are open to conversations in a gym.

Show up to a class regularly, and people will be open to talking to you.
