Hi all, so this post was inspired by a problem that one guy I used to coach is currently having. This will apply to those who have dramatic positive changes in their lives in their attempts at self improvemnt, ie starting a workout routine, wardrobe change, new hobbies, etc.

Now, basically his issue was that he had gone and changed up his wardrobe and lifestyle but was still struggling with AA and he couldn't understand why. As he put it, he was getting lots of positive feedback about the changes from women around him so the AA confused him because he felt he had done everything else seddit told him he should. I thought about it for a second, and related it back to my dramatic life changes a few years ago and here's the answer I came up with for him. There is a lag between your mental and emotional improvement versus your physical improvement.

So what do I mean by this? Well, when I started college I weighed 260 lbs and was generally down on myself which is why I kept the crappy long distance girlfriend I had. Once I joined ROTC, one instructor in particular really pushed me and helped me get in the best shape of my life but as I was improving in this aspect, I still always felt in the back of my mind that the value wasn't there. It took about a year after meeting my physical goals before my mental changes caught up with my physical changes and that's when I dumped the shitty ex and started going out, meeting girls, and generally having a better life.

So why is this relevant? You may be asking why I'm even posting this. Well, thinking back to all the guys I've coached over the last couple of years, every single one who went through a dramatic life change like that experienced the same lag. For some guys it was a few months and for some it took a year but they were always left to catch up emotionally when they worked so hard at self improvement.

A few of you may be reading this and realize, "hey I'm in that stage" or "A friend of mine is going through that now." Well the first step is recognizing it and the second overcoming. While it may be hard to overcome, you have to tell yourself that your value has increased and set the bar for women who match your value. How you do this is up to you, but as soon as you accept your increased value that came about from your self improvement, the sooner you can move on from AA and get the good vibes going :)

I'm open to discuss this so if you feel you have more input or think I'm full of shit, please post and let's have a dialogue. This is something I want to bring up because I feel it will help a ton of people including the guys I coach. In particular, if we have any psychologists in the house this is probably right up your alley.
