Honestly, if she likes you she will be wanting you to kiss her. Someone else has posted about the "wait" strategy. I suggest you try that if you have trouble finding the right moment.

Oh, and getting handsy with a girl before kissing is a bad idea man. Especially if she is shy.

Watch some chick flicks, you can bet that she has. There is a formula for a kiss that she will know.

Get close. Lock eyes. Talk with...ever...more...pauses. This creates anticipation and tension. Stop talking. Look at her lips. If you want to give her a chance to bail, bring your hand up to her cheek and brush her cheek bone with your thumb. This is a classic "I'm about to kiss you" pose and caress. She will withdraw if she isn't up for it. Don't wait around at this point, you only want to allow her to decline if it is a gut-reaction from her, you don't want her shyness and fear to kick in. She will likely be terrified that she'll mess it up. You don't want to give that little voice in her head a chance to convince her that she's not ready.

So, with eyes locked, hand up to cheek and stroke cheek bone, flick eyes to her mouth, confirming where you're going with this, back to eyes for a split second to check for the all-clear (anything but "no" is the all-clear) move in, tilt your head sideways and draw her face to yours with the hand on her cheek.

I like to do a couple of teasing kisses on individual lips off-centre first working my way towards the centre of the mouth. It is obviously intentional, it is different and it avoids problems with alignment and teeth-crunching of going straight for the full kiss. Especially good for shy girls because it builds up rather than throws them straight in.

When to move? I'd be aiming for after the movie because I like movies. :) You want to kiss and hug her when you greet her and might take her hand during a romantic scene. You might be able to stay behind in the screen when everyone else leaves, or the corridor leading to the screen if people are coming in to clean it up can be quiet and private. Perfect time to initiate. Just as you start to get into it, stop and go on to dinner or whatever so it feels like you have unfinished business you can pick up at the next appropriate time in the evening. Once you've broken the barrier it should be much easier.

As /u/NoSyte said, simply look her in the eyes, say "wait", take one relatively long glance at her lips (<2 seconds), then back to the eyes, and slowly move in for the kiss.

When you feel the tension, that feeling on the back of your head with both of you looking at each other, go for it. I made too many mistakes allready about waiting for the right moment or situacion. The movie at your place should do it, kino then escalate.

Two years ago I started dating an extremely shy girl, that was before I knew anything about seduction or pick up.

Since it was obvious that she was shy, I didnt want to kiss her in fear that she would reget me, on the second date, I left her at her house, when she was getting out of the car she looked back and went straight for me. I was impressed. Months later, she told me she wanted to kiss me right at the middle of the first date but she didnt find a way and was expecting me to go first.

Moral of the story, if you want it, she most likely does too.
