You are doing the right thing by being clear in your intent before you sleep with them. If you are looking for casual, saying "I'm not looking for anything serious right now" or some-such is fine. You need to screen the women for casual too. I wrote about this here:

Saying what you want for guys, doesn't really get you what you want but, the opposite could, if you want to keep things straight forward and get them the way you expect them, then you should also be willing to put in some cash upfront, at least with most girls i meet and am not talking about whores.
