My Dad and Mom's grandparents are South Asian. My mom was born in the UK though. So she's British. I'm racially a little ambiguous (pretty light skin).
Anyway...this is mostly anecdotal, but when I'm asked where my parents/family is from (which I get asked like 85% of the time when meeting a new person whose trying to figure me out) and tell them where my parents are from, they get super excited when I mention my Mom's British. They start asking me if I've ever been to London and get super flirty.
Its fucking bizarre lol. I'll never have a girl ask me about India or if I've been there.
I'm a born and raised full fledged American. But I'll never truly understand why this happens. It is what it is I guess haha.
