This is my first FR so I apologize for the poor quality before hand. Anyways, at a wedding, I noticed a very quiet girl who was on the phone quite often. I decided to step out and saw her sitting by herself. "This is the best chance i'll get" I thought.

Me: You don't look like you're having a good night
Her: Yeah, i'm just really annoyed.
Me: I feel ya. (Pause) What school do you go to?
Her: I go to _____ High School, i'm going to be a sophomore.
Me: Nice.

I continued to make small talk for a little while taking care of some younger cousins. Eventually, she was talking about how she was going to leave with her mom so I said "Before I go, can i get your name and number?" She obliged. "I'll text you sometime" I said.

A few minutes later however, I was inside when she came up to me and said "Just to let you know I have a boyfriend but we can still be friends if you want". "Ok" I replied. I then proceeded to leave and texted her "What's your last name? I have like 3 Alyssa's in my phone" She told me her last name and I said I would text her another time since I was at a friend's house and she replied with a simple Okay.

Felt amazing to get a phone number, especially on the first try. Anything I could have done better or differently? The conversation and kino was shit but I still got the number. I'm sure I have lots of work to do still.
