How to lower my standards?

I have the same standards, in fact I'm probably worse. It's pretty easy to get around; I don't like girls who smoke, drink, have tattoos, are super religious, too many sex partners, ect. I don't pick up girls in bars or clubs, I don't do online dating. I also don't do PUA in general though because it's not my style. My method is I focus on building a large network of people, I've made some of my best friends this way, I also make female friends and weed through the ones until I find the girls that fit my standards. I try to appear as busy as possible, so I volunteer around, right now I'm helping find dogs a home. I've found that animal rescues are like 90% females and there's some cool guys in them, if you go to one and you don't like the people move onto another. I've been in the same one for 6 months because I love the people there. I'm in a band, this is has opened many doors and new social circles. I also work, go to school, I'm also a regular at a gym where I know everyone, and I have a group I run with to train to run marathons. In the summers when I don't have school, I try to find different events and stuff to do all the time. The busier you are the more people you meet, the more people you meet the more fit your standards. It's also really attractive to be super ambitious. I do live in a big city though so there's tons of girls, so that helps. Don't lose your standards, don't ever settle.

I'm going to guess that you're being so judgmental because you are taking the standards of your friends and family, combining them, and placing them on these women. I say this because your post sounded exactly like my younger self. All that matters is if YOU like her enough to have sex with her or YOU like her enough to date her. If after sex and dates you're not becoming more into her, then move on. If you are becoming more into her, well then you might be on your way to discovering Ms. Perfect.

DO those filter out that many people? I mean I don't think so. Those don't seem unreasonable at all. I don't want a smoker, I like class, I don't like girls that get wasted, and I do fine. Maybe the twitter one is one you wanna think about a little, people use twitter a lot. But you have the right to have that one, and even with that one it's interesting to me that there would be a major problem.

You start by realizing that everyone is going to have at least one habit that annoys you. You're probably even annoyed by some of your own habits.

With that in mind, don't treat something as a deal-breaker unless it's actually a deal-breaker. Look past the turn-offs for awhile and get to know her as a whole person. If you're happy with her whole self, keeping right on looking past the turn-offs.

The "trashy" is the one I'd reexamine the most. You are being judgmental...and quite possibly incorrectly misjudging people. If by drinking a lot...you mean she is getting drunk and not handling herself well, that is one thing. If you mean that she drinks a drink or two...that's her business. If a girl smokes, yes...that one is a turnoff for me.
