Greetings, all. I wrote this primarily for r/selfimprovement, but I figure some of you might get some good value out of this as well. Becoming a better man in this regard will drastically affect your inner game in a positive way. I am excited to be addressing the book, "How To Win Friends and Influence People", in this five-part series. This introduction will give you a quick outline of what I intend to cover and introduce you to the benefits of understanding the book's principles. I hope to write this series both to inform and to give you some practical steps to learn the principles and integrate them into your lives. I hope to put out a new part every week. I am spending quite a few hours at work as well as building some other projects which limit my reading and writing time, but I'm very passionate about this literary masterpiece so I will put in the effort to get this to you all as quickly as possible while hopefully maintaining a high level of quality.

If you haven't already read the book, I'd highly recommend purchasing it and working through it as the parts of my series come out. It is a phenomenal book that I believe deserves to be a semester-long, mandatory course in every high school, and standard reading for just about everybody alive. Carnegie published the first edition in 1936, and this work has aged like fine wine. The principles covered still apply today, and Carnegie uses powerful historical examples to thoroughly cover each detail. In order to keep the parts of this series effective and to the point, I will be leaving out the bulk of these stories and examples in hopes that you all are reading them for yourselves from the book.

Following this introductory post there will be four posts, covering each of the four parts in the book. Part One will cover the Fundamental Techniques in Handling People. Part Two will cover the Six Ways to Make People Like You. Part Three will cover How to Win People to Your Way of Thinking. Lastly, Part Four will cover how to Be a Leader: Change People Without Giving Offense or Arousing Resentment. As I mentioned, I hope not only to summarize these portions but also give you some actionable steps and challenges to learn and integrate these principles into your lives.

Acquiring and acting on these principles will (in no particular order): 1. Make you more popular
2. Strengthen your existing relationships
3. Expand your earning potential
4. Better your business activities
5. Teach you how to lead effectively
6. Make you more interested in people and vice versa
7. Allow you to win arguments peacefully or avoid those that are unnecessary
8. Help you to maintain an open mind
And more.

I'm really looking forward to working on this project. If this sounds interesting or otherwise, please let me know. If you have any ideas on exactly how I can maximize the value of this series for you all, please let me know. I'm still learning how this whole writing thing works, so don't be afraid to give me constructive feedback along the way. I'm working on putting up my own site where I'll be posting the articles I've written and hopefully some other goodies, more news on that later.

P.S. If you guys here at Seddit think I should keep this to r/selfimprovement, let me know. Otherwise, stay tuned for [Part 1] of the Win Friends Series!
