In my personal experience, having done both asking and just going in for the kill, I've never had asking work but I have several friends where ig has worked out, but I generally would recommend against it and several women I've asked said that it would've been weird if I asked instead of just kissing them.

So my recommendation from personal experience is just do it if you get the feeling from her. (I.e. she's holding your hand, close to you, gives u that kind've stare).

Someone posted (idk if it was on this subreddit) but said if you're ever not sure, try intimately stroking/caressing her hair and see how she responds. If she's cool with that, she'll probably be cool with the kiss.

It works best to be doing micro escalation throughout the date so the kiss comes more natural. This is one of the best things I've learned from the community. As I was already really outgoing. Watch this video.

Don't ask, ever! just do it...and don't wait till the end of the date if at all possible (would be more pressure).
