Hey there people of seddit! After about 3 month of solid reading of examples and theory on pick up I decided to start day gaming. A lot of pros and almost no cons. Now there is a problem with my mindset I think when I go day gaming. The usual way I learn to do something new ( it could be a social skill or even learn to play a game) I go and do the most simple form of the activity and every single time I do it again I add something ( A learning curve). But this is what happened today when I tried to day game for the first time.

Day Game Approach Question

This is in summery what happened and what was going on in my brain today. I already said to my self 2 days prior to today that I will go out and try and approach some girls. Thats all good I even knew what I was going to say which at one point was a problem for me a simple "Hey I really like that dress of yours and I thought I at least have to find out whats your name." From what I have read here don't ask the question you want the answer to assume it. (Example:"I can see you have a great body I assume you play some sort of sport...volleyball?") That way it doesn't feel like an interview on the street but a casual conversation. If there is a problem with this style of approach please tell me.

Day Game Mind Set Problem

Well I went out and it was cool I was hyped about it I didn't feel worried or shy or anything I was super outgoing and in short I was ready to do this! The problem I came across is that I always imagined the easiest way to approach someone on the steet is if the two of you are walking in opposite directions and you just stop her when you get close. And since I already explained I wanted to do the most simple and natural thing to get me started with day game I only really imagined how to approach a girl if she was walking towards me. I go out and walk for like an hour and I see no girls my age. It's not like I went to a place where there were almost no people. The sidewalk I walk along is usually pretty busy and I often see girls there guess today just wasn't my day. Well I brush that off and start to go home and now here is the problem. I see the first girl from when I went out but there is a catch. The scenario isn't anything like i imagined and prepared for. There were way to many people there she was walking pretty far away from me and she was walking in the same direction. At this point I didn't really prepare to run up to the girl and say anything to her I only imagined if she was walking towards me what to do which made me panic and basicaly lose the chance to approach her. So how do I remove this imaginery scenario from my head and get comfortable approaching in what situation it may be?

TL;DL

I try to approach with something close to this line:"Hey I really like that dress of yours and I thought I at least have to find out whats your name." Is it a good idea to ask a question inderectly like this?

This was the first time I went day gaming and had imagined a scenario in my head. I didn't get a lot of chances sadly (2 total) to approach because of the lack of girls where I was. But I couldn't approach these girls even because it wasn't the scenario I imagined I would be in when approaching. How do I get out of this imaginery scenario and learn to approach in every situation?
