I've put a lot of effort into improving my dating life and the results are fantastic. I still have very few friends though. Seddit, how do I make friends?

Obtain cool hobbies and meet people doing said hobbies. Working out, music/playing an instrument, (Playing in a band is very networking heavy) art, rock climbing, etc. I have met some awesome people from these things. (Minus rock climbing, I have never done it but I would like to try it sometime and I know a few people that are in to it.)

A good way to befriend someone doing these things is to go up to them and compliment them on their skill then build a conversation off of that.

If you befriend people who are into the same things you are, you tend to develop a more consistent friendship.

A couple of my good friends moved to different cities recently so I've been trying to meet new people. One thing I started doing was sitting at a bar that serves food and eating dinner there. There was a guy sitting near me and he struck up a conversation. Turns out he works for the same company I do. After dinner I stayed there and had a drink and we talked for a good hour. I'm going to stay in contact and see if he wants to go to a happy hour this week.

I also went to a music festival last weekend by myself and ran into a guy from high school. He had got separated from the people he was there with so we hung out and watched a band play. We exchanged numbers and he invited me to tailgate at a football game the next day.
