It just means putting your balls on the line. It means going up to a girl and honestly saying you are approaching her because you're attracted to her (as opposed to pretending your approaching her for a reason you don't give a shit about). It means sharing yourself genuinely with a girl, and not pretending you have a perfect life. If you're a virgin, don't hide it if it comes up. Don't try to be a tough player if that's not who you are. Share your rough edges, the hardships you've faced, the things you've learned. But here's the catch - do it because you actually want to share who you are with her, regardless of what she thinks. Don't do it to get a reaction, don't do it because you think it'll make her think you're a better person. Don't do it to seek pity. You still gotta be in control of your emotions.

And if she rejects you after you've shared yourself? Good. That's the risk of being vulnerable, but she's saved both of you lots of time and needless games. Keep going and eventually, your vulnerability (which is just another term for honesty) will get you some of the best interactions of your life.

He is basically saying that you have you rip out your heart and hand it over to her. Be willing to be rejected. At the same time, you have to project that you are in control and you can take the heart back any time and walk away.

Hmm... Basically if you don't change your behaviour to match the girl you are talking to, and displaying interest in her at the same time. You are polarising her. You are putting her in a situation to choose whether she likes you or not.

Uhhh... Do not be conflict averse and don't take the neutral ground on topics that that have have opinions on etc.

This is tougher than I thought it would be. Words.

Vulnerability is you being able to express your intentions, desires by being honest with yourself and communicating that to the people around you. Basically instead of trying to be a generic guy trying to impress the girl, talk about what's meaningful to you. If she has the same interests then that helps the attraction and if not, you get rejected and move on.

In my version he explains it on page 43.

But basically, being vulnerable is putting yourself on the line. Not changing your behavior to match the girl. Quote from the book: "show your rough edges. Stop trying to be perfect. Expose yourself and share yourself without inhibition."
