Do not ask are you flirting with me now. Escalate verbally then physically. Example: she maintains eye contact and says "sometimes I get lonely". You maintain eye contact and say "I have weed vodka and ice cream at the house depending on what you are feeling." Then take her hand.

If you make a move - and turns out she was just 'stupid' and you misunderstood her actions - it can be very awkward and you risk loosing her as a friend.

It's never happened to me.

I think this is an irrational, unfounded fear in the brain of the Nice Guy™ much like that irrational fear that someone will slap you for hitting on them, or throw a drink in your face. It doesn't happen.

If you think she's flirting with you, flirt back. Escalate. If she goes with it, then yes... she's flirting. If she doesn't go with it, you may have misunderstood.

why would she flirt with you if she has a boyfriend?

Maybe she's looking for a new one? Maybe she's just unhappy with him? Maybe you're attractive and she'd just like to get a little in on the side? Maybe she just loves the attention she gets from flirting and doesn't really intend it to go anywhere?

Could be anything... but the important question is: Who the fuck cares why she's doing it? The only thing that's important is that she's doing it.
