This has been a recurring experience for me when I go out drinking with one particular friend, and before reading Rollo Tommassi, I could never figure out why.

We'll be walking around, doing whatever, and inevitably run into a woman he knows and a group of her friends. And 90% of the time the woman he runs into wants to fuck him. Well, I figure there's 4 of them and 2 of us, so I might as well start chatting up the remaining three. Always, without fail, one hundred percent of the time, no exceptions, one of two things happens. Either they shoot that who the fuck is this and why is he talking to me look to their friend, or, trapped by social convention, we'll talk until the rest are done eye fucking and posturing for my friend. They would all rather share him (who, by the way has a girlfriend of 10 years) then talk to me, an unknown quantity.

Now I realize it's because of social validation.

The first one knows my buddy and wants to fuck him. The rest pick up on this, and, subconsciously because one wants to fuck him, the rest do. I have no validation because I am not known to these women. And it makes me really really angry, to the point where I don't even want to hang out with this guy because I'm jealous of how easy he makes it. For all intents and purposes, I might as well be invisible.

So that's what I do. If they're going to treat me like I'm invisible, I might as well be, so I walk away. It's the coward's way out, but it's easier than feeling like a bug she just found on the bottom of her shoe.

I can only assume that I'm still not good-looking enough or in good enough shape to compete. And this is after a year of lifting, losing 25lbs and turning 50% of my body fat to muscle. It really fucking sucks.
