I just had this text exchange with a girl a few days ago (I had met her briefly the previous week, chatted and taken her number):

'I'll be passing through <City X> tomorrow morning, wanna grab brunch?'

She responded after 20 minutes or so with a disarmingly simple and amusing line:

'Maybe.'

Now this girl is very attractive, and apparently she also comes from a very wealthy family. Dunno, maybe she's used to being a princess and expected me to play along to her game. Well, it's her unlucky day, cause I've been reading seddit. I'm outcome independent, non-needy, and generally just don't give a fuck. So instead, I take a moment to think and settle on the following reply:

'Text me if your maybe ripens to something more definite then'

I had a response within 5 minutes.

'Yes we could have brunch'

I just grinned, then proceeded to authoritatively tell her when and where she was to meet me. She complied like a puppy.
