I made an approach today at my local coffee shop and I came away with a couple of important lessons. Firstly, I made the approach in the first place because of my inner neediness to talk to a girl. That is to say, I wasn't actually very attracted to this girl (who was pretty average looking) I was talking to her just to talk to a girl. When I eventually left the shop, I noticed another girl that had came in that was much more my type, yet I had to leave for work and had squandered my opportunity with her because I "had" to talk to the less attractive girl for "practice". And yet, the "practice" girl wasn't very interested in me anyway, which brings me to my second point: don't be boring. Because I came into the approach already bored with the girl I picked, I came across as really lame. Like Obama in a middle eastern conflict, I forced myself to become involved even though I obviously didn't care, which meant I just lost. I would have "won" if I didn't approach her in the first place, or if I had approached with genuine care or interest. By half-assing it, I made an ass if myself. So if you make an approach, approach out of genuine interest and things will be a lot smoother for you then if you approach because you feel like you "must" approach.
