Sup Seddit,

Just this tuesday I started my first semester at a local community college. Before college I was that kid who always sat in the back of classes and never really talked to anyone, but after taking a semester off I learned a lot about life and consider myself a much better person but I still have a lot to learn.

Over the course of these three days I got 3 numbers but none of these will lead to dates so I think I may need to rethink my approach.

Approaches

Girl #1: I'm waiting for a ride home and see a pretty cute girl sitting down on a bench by herself so I just walk up and ask to sit down by her. After rummaging through my pack for a bit, I just start making some stupid small talk and throw in some compliments here and there. She smiles a lot and doesn't really break eye contact and after a bit I take down her number and my ride came about a minute later.

I text her a bit later with my standard text that I got somewhere off of here probably, "Hey _____, some crazy girl just gave me her number what do you think I should do?" She responds saying we should hang out and I agree and try to set a date but then she says how she just got out of a relationship so I'm putting her on the backburner a bit for now.

I guess I also went on a mini date with Girl #1, a couple days after I met her, because when I first met her I actually forgot my umbrella and she got it and returned it to me. After she gave it back we kind of just walk around campus and I do some mild kino but nothing more than an arm around her shoulder for a bit. I texted her that night but I'm not really getting a lot of IOI so I think I might need to move on.

Girl #2: I'm waiting for the bus to come and stop by the cafe to check it out. See cute girl sitting at a big table by herself and take a seat right next to her. Start some random small talk not many IOI but I take down her number anyways. I text her later and she responds with one word then I try again the next day with no response.

Girl #3: I'm waiting for a friend to pick me up, it's kind of late so there aren't many more people still on the campus. While I was walking around the campus I see a cute girl sitting down and do my usual small talk with some compliments intertwined. Take down her number and when I go to text her that night I get a response of "I'm sorry I'm really not interested in anything delete my number" I thought that was kind of funny but I also think it might mean that I am coming on kind of aggressive or something so they feel uncomfortable not giving me their number.

Summary

College is pretty cool and I am having a lot of fun meeting tons of new people. I should review my approaches more so that I can keep improving. I think a good way to start out would be to try approaching a girl not sitting down.
