I purposely got into a line at the grocery store cause there was a cute girl ahead of me.

I then proceeded to look for an opportunity to talk to her. While I'm doing this, she turns around, looks at me, continues to look at me, and then says, "I like your shirt."

I was so shocked that she spoke first, I completely blanked. I managed to say, "Thank you," but then stood there awkwardly for the rest of our time in line. It's actually kind of funny. I'm always so focused on starting the conversation, I realized I'd never actually prepared for if THEY started the conversation. I took a couple of lessons from this.

1) Be prepared for anything. Things never go as planned so don't only prepare for a situation where they do.

2) This is probably how girls feel when you approach them. They're surprised so they're not ready to respond. This can look like they're not interested (which is probably how I looked to this girl). But it's just the initial surprise. Push through and keep talking and if she's cool, she'll loosen up.
