[22 M] I've been lurking around here for a while. AMA

I'm in San Diego if that matters at all!

So I just went to my bank and this cute girl is working there, haven't seen her there before so I just went in confidently smiling and thinking in the back of my mind that I'm gonna ask her for her number, not because I wanted to be with her or anything, but I wanted to see what might happen.

The bank was empty and it's right by my University so most people there are students too. She had two friends by her, a guy and a girl.

I deposited a check after we had a little how are you and a small chat. She asked if I wanted a statement receipt so I just answered "only if your number's on it" So she laughed and said "haha wow yea for sure"

We also chatted for a while and an angry man was behind me in line and shouted "finish up Romeo and Juliet, we have jobs to go to" so I told her to have a nice day and I'll txt her later.

I was gonna ask her to go out tonight but I had a dentist appointment afterwards and my mouth is numbed as I'm typing this thing.

Anyhow I texted her an hour and a half later with a corny "knock knock" and we exchanged a couple of texts. We decided to meet for drinks next weekend. In her texts she said "No one has ever asked me out at work before" and "you made my day".

The key is, first, Respect her (she's a human being and a cool person) just like every person out there, I learned that every person out there is thinking about what they wanna do and has a unique story, people wanna have more cool friends and everyone out there (almost everyone) will be nice to you if you are nice to them.

Second, I said I'll be myself and say the first thing that comes to my mind and I won't care what happens. If she says yea, thats awesome, if she rejects then I'll say have a wonderful day and go about my business.

If you see a cute gal in a store, an elevator, or in the street; just smile and say hi, if she welcomes you, talk to her, if not, then keep on doing whatever you were doing.
