There's this girl that is in my class at university. She had a real crush on me in the 1st and 2nd year of uni, but I never cared for her enough, and I was a virgin and too scared/indifferent towards her to fool around so I never did anything with her. We did talk and basically act like friends, so in that respect I friendzoned her, unconsciously.

Now I'm in my 3rd and final year and I started having these thoughts about her whenever I saw her, especially when I saw her talking to other dudes, etc.. I decide that maybe I do feel something for her and decide to ask her out. By this point I had already obsessed about "our time together", basically text-book oneitis that you know so well.

So I catch her after a class and approach her and tell her that I want to take her out. She's a bit surprised and asks me "how come?". Not having a clue as to how to respond all I do is wave my hands around in some kind of comic response and just look at her. She takes it jokingly with "ok, but just so you know I'm not putting out". She then asks me where we would be going to which I tell her I know a place, and she tests me again with a "who else is gonna come?". Again not having the balls to tell her "no one, just us" I make another joke about how I'll have my parents over. We end on that note, with the understanding that I will call her tomorrow and set up the place and hour. I've later found out that joking about asking out is a bad move and all I did was signal to her that I was an unprepared sob. Am I right TRP?

Next day I call, no reply, to which I send her a text to reschedule a day later at X hour and Y place. She texts me back saying ok. I call her the next day and she doesn't reply. I get a call from her later in the day and she tells me how she's "got to write her thesis and the weather outside is just right for writing, and she's really short on time and this thesis is really important bla bla bla". Basically flaking. I get somewhat angry and press her: "I want to know when that other time is exactly or if you can't tell me that then tell me that you just can't and we'll leave it at that". She then goes on to tell me "why are you being weird? [basically, why am I breaking my frame and showing that I'm needy], if it's that important to you then I don't want to hurt you". I basically say "ok, I've got the idea", talk about some other things and then we hang up.

The next day I'm at uni helping out a colleague of mine when I see that they called her to help as well. Obviously the whole strapped on time excuse was bullshit because both of us were there for more than 8 hours that day. Now, I had no problem with the rejection, I screwed up with communicating my intentions directly, but the weird part is that while we're there she starts kinoing me and engaging me in conversation, asking me different types of stuff, actually displaying interest (or am I reading it wrong?). I go along with it and am friendly mostly. The day is over, we helped our colleague and then we part ways. While I was ok with the rejection up until this point, the kinoing and interest unsettled me. Did she do it to fuck with my head?

About 2 weeks have elapsed since then and I'll probably see her at uni come this Monday or so. As hard as it is to admit that you've got oneitis, I almost got over it - basically thinking that if I was important for her she would have gone out with me and if that excuse was real, she wouldn't have showed up the next day. Eversince swallowing the pill I've cut off all communication with her, deleted Facebook, etc... My question, TRP, would be:

1) If she confronts me about why I haven't talked to her/she missed me/blablabla, should I be upfront and confront her on her excuse bullshit or should I just ignore her and just brush her off?

2) A friend has suggested that I actually ask her out a second time, proper this time, and basically state directly what I want, assess her reaction and if she says no, then to confront her on why not since she did tell me she wanted to "hang out" whatever that means, before I asked her out. Should I?

Honestly at this point the only thing that would change my mind about her is if I had casual sex with her. I realized that the "relationship" part was what was causing the oneitis flare-up, pussy on pedestal reaction from me and if she does ask me "why aren't you talking to me?" I'm thinking of telling her directly that all I want is sex, if she's down then cool, if not she can fuck off. Normally, I've gauged that the best course of action is to move on, but I want to get a proper closure without her confusing me with kino/etc, want to hear a "proper" yes/no, no maybe's.

Some additional info: the social group reaction is that she's a virgin, or she's been with very few guys before this. Personality-wise we click really well, until now of course. Before the flaking part I would have seen myself in a relationship with her but as I said, that's exactly what prompted me to lose frame. I know for a fact that what drew her to me in the first place was my stoic frame that I had, when I wasn't interested in her. I did all of that unconsciously, obviously - until the crush turned around and I started acting like a beta bitch.

What do TRP?
