So I'm at the bar attempting to start conversations. Im sitting in a chair, there's a chair to my right, the bar then has a corner, then 4 more chairs. Let's call them A-F in that order. Two guys maybe late 30s early 40s sitting in E and F.

Two girls late 20s walk in and are standing by C and D and within a minute girl at D introduces and starts talking to the guys at E and F, invites girl at C in on convo, and they sit at C and D. Now you like who you like but in my head theres a definate gap between age and 'type' here and they dont look like they match at all. Regardless, the girl at D seems really into chatting these guys up, is touchy, definately trying to 1v1 and get her friend at C to 1v1. Her friend is semi into it but not touchy and on her phone half the time.

My question is...would it have been shitty to shift to chair B and engage the girl at chair C? I wouldof had no problem doing so but felt like the girl at D so quickly and confidently established a "we're 2 girls, you're 2 guys" thing that it would be...some kind of encroachment? Cockblocking? Is there ettiquite here?
