Recently started talking to a girl I hooked up with once a few years back. It was sketchy (took her on a late night road trip, decided to check out an abandoned/haunted house in the woods) but it was probably the first time I actually made a move I think and we hooked up.

Anyway, the other night I'm out at the bar with a good friend and some high school people I haven't seen in a while. She unexpectedly shows up with some guy and her friend. I was pleasantly surprised. But I pussied out and instead of saying hi to her immediately I just pretended to ignore her and she did the same to me. A few drinks later I make my way over and inadvertently say hello, first to her "friend" then to her. Shortly after she pulls me aside and asks me what I think of her "friend". Now this guy looked anything but intimidating. He had Justin Bieber hair, kinda emo looking, somewhat tall and really skinny. Not to mention she called him her "friend" and from what I had seen he wasn't trying ANYTHING, no holding hands, touching her in any way shape or form..nothing.

So jokingly and drunkenly I said "He's beta as fuck" with a little chuckle. She hit me on the chest and was like "Stop being mean!". We playfully argued about it for a bit and had little exchanges similar to that throughout the night. So all signs pointed to 'Yes she's interested', at least that's what it seemed like.

So I text her the following night and the night previous comes up. She brings up her "friend" again and how I was apparently being mean to him (I was nothing but respectful, I introduced myself to him, shook his hand, invited him with us to come to the next bar etc.). Then she goes "I don't think he was interested in me". I thought to myself OOoo dis gon' be good. I said "there are two possibilities here, A. He isn't interested in you, or B. He was too afraid to make a move. Did he kiss you at the end of the night?". No, but we danced a little bit and at the end we hugged. So I said "What you just described to me sounds like you went to the middle school dance."

I told her to let me take her out and show her what a real date is like (not in a dickish way as that probably sounded I swear). So she ended it with "Maybe, I'll talk to you tomorrow night."

I go out the next night with my friend, super hyped to see this girl. So we go around to different bars, I text her every now and then to see if she got there yet. Later in the night, I come up from the bathroom and see her right as she walks into the bar. So I walk up to her put my hand around her waist and get somewhat close to her and tell her to let me buy her a drink. She keeps going "I don't know, I don't know" and looking left and right away from me like she was afraid I was going to kiss her or something. I started getting embarrassed because this was in front of the entire bar at this point so I back up (probably a dumb move). "Why not?" "I don't know" "That's not an answer just tell me yes or no" "I don't know, I need to be with my friends." "Alright." Annoyed at this point I went outside and mingled with some smokers while I waited for my friend to come out.

I saw her the next night, I was a little more drunk at that point. I kino'd her a bit harder then but she was acting strange just like the night before. Idk if she slipped away from me or I got distracted because I unfortunately lost sight of her. I don't know what to do at this point though. I've been holding off on texting her and talking to her because I don't want to come off as desperate or weird, but I need to put the wheels in motion again. I can't miss another opportunity. What should I do? What is the next step? Do I keep trying with her or should I not waste my time?
