I often just laugh at things girls shit test me for. Is this the wrong way of doing it?

For example, I tried to open a door today that was jammed over and over. Girl said "having trouble with that door?" *with a smile

I just responded "hahaha yeah"

I always thought laughing a those things showed amused mastery and showed that I was dismissive of her test?
