Hey! I have huge confidence issues. For a long time I've thought that if you work on your skills then you will feel good about yourself, but it just doesn't work that way, can someone please tell me how to start feeling good about oneself? How to feel like you're "good enough"?

I made a list of things that I can do hoping it would make me feel good about myself, but it doesn't. I still feel like i'm not good enough.

Things I can do well (in first person because it was for myself primarily):

  1. Sing (You were in a national competition, local Idol show, got into the top 15)
  2. Play multiple instruments (piano, guitar for about 5-6 years, used to play the trumpet for a year, took a few drumming classes, the flute for one year, have studied folk-jazz fiddle for 3 months)
  3. Electronic music (You have about 90 unfinished songs, I never feel like they're good enough to finish so they are about 10-20 seconds each)
  4. Musically gifted, have studied classical theory for 7 years and jazz theory for 1 year.
  5. Extensive (human) anatomical knowledge. You can name all of the major bones in a body and most major muscles
  6. Overall drawing/art skill (there have been periods in which you've studied the human figure for 8 hours a day). You have worked as a storyboard artist in a project for three commercials.
  7. Mutilingualism. You can fluently speak English, German and [your mother language]. You have studied Japanese and Spanish, you are currently learning Norwegian.
  8. Overall social skills. You were popular in high school. You USUALLY have no problems making friends.
  9. Determination. You can overcome most obstacles (like studying anatomy when you really didn't feel like it etc)
  10. Programming. You have studied Java and HTML. You can read and understand most Java/HTML code and write basic programs.
  11. Sense of humour. You have been the class clown (in a good way) and for some reason you have the ability to make others happy.

Things to work on:

  1. Your body. You are still pretty skinny so keep working out and have a proper diet. You will make it.
  2. Honesty. When you talk to people, always be honest. This does not mean that you should never use white lies, it just means that you are "yourself" and comfortable in your own skin. (YOUR BIGGEST PROBLEM)
  3. Read more books. Try to read at least one book a week, which means 4 books in a month instead of the current one book a month stratagem.

I'm sorry if it sounds like boasting, it sort of is, that's the point, but as I said i STILL don't feel like i'm good enough.

No person will ever care about how many "cervical vertebrae" there are or how many Hz there are in an A note. How to keep myself motivated, because I DO like the things that I can do, it just feels like there is no point and the only reason I do them is because I love learning. Do I just have to work harder? Get more hobbies?
