The best way to avoid bein a nice guy is to stop trying to be a pleaser. A pleaser puts women on a pedestal. He thinks about the needs of the woman before his own. He does things that he may not want to do just to "please" the woman. That is how you get friendzoned. Do things that you want to do, not that you want to do because you think itll make her like you more. That doesnt mean you cant be a nice guy, it just means to stick to your own opinions. Flirt with eye contact, playfull touching and teasing.

Also meet single people at bars, coffee shops, libraries, wherever YOU want to go.

Look man, you seem like a good guy who has pure intentions. A lot of people here are gonna say be confident, don't be a nice guy, go out, blah blah blah. Here's my advice to you buddy, or rather, list of advices- 1- meditate. Do mindfulness meditation. Focus on your breathing. Clear the mind. This is so you can be in touch with your present moment. 2- travel if you can, anywhere, this will make you realise there is so much to this world and sitting yo worry about girls is so insignificant. 3- Read a lot of self help books, anywhere from 'models' to 'the art of conversation'. 4- pay attention to body language. Eye contact will take you a long long long way. Maintain good eye contact. Speak softly and slowly, be in control of any conversation, insert your humor, talk about what you love, what makes you laugh, how much you love life, why you've chosen IT etc, but also, make sure you connect with the person, why did she choose her profession, why the hell does she like watching this TV show. Etc give a slight touch here and there etc. I think it's called Sth like kino. Research about it. 5- learn the power of 'push and pull' it'll help you a lot. 6. Pay attention to your food. Eat a lot of nuts, fruit, vegetables. Youre a man with a dick. Youre created to get pussy. What's stopping you is your mind buddy. Youre also 6ft and lean, own that shit. Youre an IT guy, presumably intelligent, own that. 7. Remember, you won't connect with every girl out there, but you only need one to reproduce with essentially, go out there and find that one girl for you. 8. You'll get rejected but you'll feel good. Better than not giving the approach a try at all. 9. Most importantly, don't make women you're priority.

Talk slower and more deliberate, it also lowers your voice. Women are more attracted to a lower male voice. I knew a guy who had this really deep gruff voice and more than a few co-worker women remarked they loved it when he said "hello ____" in the hallway just to hear his voice.
