This is already happening. "Career women" in their 30's are lamenting in a sleuth of blogs and other articles about how they can't find "quality men" for dating and marriage.

What we may be heading towards is a harem situation. With fewer men graduating college, fewer men earning a lot of money, and more men opting to "drop out" of the rat race and just play video games... there will be few men earning more than women (see: the pay gap doesn't exist and in fact in many cities women outearn men), there is going to be a severe shortage of eligible men... women will have to settle for being 1 of many a guy keeps long-term.
