It's assumed you're after sex or a relationship (which generally includes sex) when doing online dating, so there's no need to bring it up explicitly.

I once had a girl go out with me because she was pleasantly surprised that online I didn't go right into sex talk with her. She was used to ignoring horny guys who get rude in chat.
