forget about 'neediness'. be as 'needy' as possible. It's not a bad thing. you know what IS a bad thing, and WILL prevent you getting laid? Not taking action, and holding back. The way you asked the question, it sounds like you're afraid of looking uncool. Do you want to look cool, or do you want to get laid?

Neediness is unattractive because you're responding to her. When dude is "needy" and he escalates and she says no, dude gets pissed because he feels he's not sexy if he can't get her to accept his advances. You can be bold and needy and that's unattractive and a girl can pick up on that. You want to be bold and sure of yourself. If she rejects your advances, that's fine. "Ain't no thang because I'm sexy as hell and if she doesn't want in on all this sexy then that sucks for her; this is just a kiss she doesn't know what's in store for the bedroom". That's the vibe you want.

According to Mark Mason's book models, the answer to the investment paradox is learning how to be vulnerable. You have to put yourself out there and be willing to be rejected. By putting yourself out there, you are showing interest but also showing that you are strong enough to face rejection and not be destroyed by it. Also learn to be outcome independent and get excited by your own actions rather than relying on her positive reactions to make you feel good.

Read her reactions to see if you're moving to quickly or too slowly.

Coming across as needy is more about how you react to her reactions, rather than your initial vibe. e.g. telling a girl you find her very attractive is not needy, getting upset if she won't kiss you right away is.
