TL;DR Aimed for a kiss close at least, didn't get it. Best escalation I've done though, and best kino I've applied yet.

Happy New years gentlemen (and ladies). I had a wicked new years. I focused on having fun, but of course, pick-up was part of it, but just a part.

Mindset of the night

Easy. New years eve. Have fun. However, I made certain I was with the right crew and the right place. We bounced around to a few parties. The first one was with a bunch of familiar faces but I didn't want to be surrounded by that. I want to go out and do something exciting. I went with close friends who I know are in the same mindset as me (aren't afraid to meet new people and talk to girls). I could have stayed at the first party because its a comfortable environment, but I knew I wouldn't achieve anything.

We went to a pub-style bar and a girl approached and started hanging out with because she knew one of my friends. She was sober, and I had a fair amount, though no where near wasted. I didn't know the girl prior to this, but I chatted her up at the bar a lot. eye contact, light kino (touches on the arm, brushing forearms, that kinda jazz), conversation and Hennessy ;) was all there. For brief periods, she would go out to have a smoke with my buddy she knew.

After the pub, we decided to go to a club with dancing. My friends that we were with left towards some other corner of the club and that left me and this girl alone (HB 8, sexy figure, crazy club/dancing kinda gal). She starts dancing in front of me, like 2 feet away or so (surprising amount of room available at a club, this place was damn busy to). She's whipping her hair around, bouncing it back and forth, moving her body side to side and I was captivated. I am a dancer (not partner dancing), it's one of the things I am doing to self improve and also just because I enjoy it. I step up to her to grab and hold her hands:

Me "Dance with me, and do what I do"

Girl "I can't, I don't know how to dance"

Me "I'll tell you exactly what you need to do, move with me"

I told her just to two-step to the beat, left to right, and back and forth. I toss in some twirls, holding her hand up high and having her spin around in her sexy dress. She got really in to it and stepped in much closer, and we rubbed up against one another as we do this. Then she turns around, sticks her ass out against me and we start grinding. Apparently my friends were watching from a short distance away and they were just blown away at how well I was doing, so a bit of an ego boost here. Why I think it worked:*

I challenged her. I didn't ask her to dance, I just went for it, taking what I want. I've read and seen (and intuitively it makes sense), a girl likes a guy who can lead. It's something fun, and appropriate in the setting we were in. Also, I didn't give a shit who was looking or watching because no one probably was or cares enough to watch me try to get a girl in the first place.

I then turn her around and we're grinding face to face. And I guess I messed up here. I lean in for the kiss and she turns her head and says that she can't. So i back off and we continue dancing some more. We didn't speak as much now, I go in for the kiss again and it didn't work out. We went back to my friend's house, she drove us (as mentioned before she was sober). I number closed. Here's a couple things that I think made me fail:

I haven't escalated smoothly like that before so when I went in for the kiss I may have misjudged the timing or seemed nervous/hesitant. I need to improve this part now, I am aiming to consistently reach this stage now.

Also, when we were grinding, I may not have held her firmly enough around the waist (I dunno, I'm just trying to improve anything and everything that may improve my chances). I had my arms around her waist, but I didn't slide over her belly too much, and it was a fairly loose grip, so I may not have imparted assertiveness.

Also, how the hell do I smoothly reach up to kiss a girl taller than me? haha

Regardless, the night was awesome. I did better than I thought, and I'm happy about that. Pulled a type of girl i would never have been able to before. The tall (3" taller than me), sexy figured crazy club chick. Happy 2017!
