Going to clubs/bars solo

If I go to bar with friends I always end up rolling solo. Wingmen are overrated. The only thing that sucks about going full solo is you have to 'warm up' the social wheels and can make the first couple interactions kinda awkward and can mess with your mojo.

A couple things to say about soloing... find "the strip" or the place that has drunk people wondering from one place to the next. This is great, because you got a bunch of fresh places you can hop to and not feel isolated if you use up all your opportunities at one place. Just bounce from bar to bar getting a single beer and chilling, talking. Stay and get another as long as things are enjoyable or good. Second reason it's great is while you're in transit, talk to every group of people you see. Just interrupt and chit chat, assert something, ask a question, whatever. Talk to guys too, start saying shit like whaddup boss when a guy walks past you and looks at you in the eyes.

Do that at "bar" type places from about 9:30 or 10 to 11 or 11:30. Then hit up some dance floors for a whole different type of picking up women.

Remember that you're there for a reason. You miss every shot you don't make, so make shots.

You'd have better luck in clubs. People tend to go to bars with a large group and stick with their large group; in clubs, it's a lot more static and everyone's moving around. Otherwise, really it's just trial and error. Don't buy girls drinks. Smile and ask her where she got something cool she's wearing, you need a gift for your sister. Or start smoking, conversation tends to start all by itself when two people smoke together. Good luck. But it really helps to go with a cool buddy who has a different vibe than you. (e.g. if you're preppy, have a buddy who looks like a bad boy. If you're into streetwear, have a buddy with a dress shirt)

Can't speak to clubs since there are none around me (18+ ones don't count). Solo to a bar however, the utmost confidence is the key here. Can you sit at the bar by yourself, and feel calm and collected? Or even better yet solo, try and find a cool bar and get to know the bartender a little bit. At least enough to chat as she comes by. Even if she is the bartender, women are a lot more disarmed if they see you talking to another woman. Smoking is always a good bet too.
