You could go with the direct approach, or try to come up with a strategy that gives you some indirect warmth. You could tell one of them that you might be interested in starting a group on campus, but you'd need someone to start it with. Then you could schedule a time to get together and discuss it. You could say "Alright, come to my dorm and I'll make us cookies." Having a little fake project is sometimes one of the most fun ways to have a first date, because sexual tension builds crazy fast, by setting it up NOT as a date. Girls can all tell what you're after, so it's not like they don't think you're trying to get with them. If that feels too disingenuous, then go direct as mentioned.

Lots of church's have group meetings for young people with music and games and activities and all those team building stuff. That could be a better place to go and get to know the girls than on a Sunday after sermon
