It depends on the context. If it’s in a social circle I wouldn’t do it. But if you meet her in a coffee shop or in the daytime and go with a direct opener, than a few minutes in the conversation, you could ask if she has a boyfriend. It’s a very powerful thing to do or like a “push” to give her, especially combined with a direct approach.
