It's math.

Being direct + not acknowledging the other person's reaction = creepy.

Being direct + reading the other person + knowing when to slow things down = welcomed.

You have to learn how to read the person and acknowledge when you might be making them uncomfortable.

It's a courtship dance. Know when to push, know when to pull.

I I would also say, that it is very normal, and healthy for a less experienced person to have some concern about crossing creep-lines. that probably means your a good human being. The solution to this though, is to have a solid understanding of the boundaries.

part of this can be done through reasoning, research, etc. Such as reading some of that link if you wanted. The other part is first hand experience. other comments in this thread have basically summed it up.

Be very aware of the other person, have empathy, try to understand what they are feeling and why. If someone is weirded out, later, think it through, dont dwell on it, but consider if you did something messed up, even if it wasnt that bad. But also remember some people can have crazy reactions.

Point is, when you've worked this all out, you will gain a lot of confidence. It wont be something you have to think about a lot.

I want to say one last thing on this issue. Im a 6' male who is athletic, and knows how to handle himself kinda. When I was a teenager, I would go jogging at 2:00 am down dark alleys, without thinking about it. I didnt live in a terrible neighborhood, so that helped. But a lot of my lack of concern was that statistically, I could probably take about 19 out of every 20 adults I came across in a fight. And as a guy, I am much less likely to be mugged or sexually assaulted.

A pretty, young woman who is of average build, is statistically WAY more likely to be assaulted, and much less able to defend herself.

My point of all this is take this into account. Demonstrating an understanding of this can go a long way. There is a bad kind of aggressive and a good kind. Its all going to depend on the woman. I know a woman who has been through some terrible stuff and likes to hook up with creepy dudes in strange cities under dangerous conditions, I would guess its subconsciously to face her fears, but it turns her on. obviously she is an outlier.

sorry for the rambling. I was rambling because the answer to your question is learn a bunch of stuff by paying attention to womens (if you are a straight dude) and learn slowly a large amount of stuff that will shape your understanding of how to be aggressive without being creepy.
