I'm 21, in college, and in general have a lot going for me. However, I haven't had that much luck with girls. Since I was 19 I've been trying to change that, but with only limited success. I've done things with a handful of women and lost my virginity earlier this year, but I've still never had a steady girlfriend or anything. Additionally, I feel so much pressure to get a girlfriend while I'm still young and can attract someone, before I get fat and all my hair falls out (shitty family genes). None of the women I did anything with stuck around for long, mostly they ended up going for someone else.

The more this has happened, the more upset about this pattern I have become. It's lead to me developing intense, irrational feelings of anger and jealousy, to the point where I feel very upset when I see women I am interested in talking to guys in any context whatsoever. About a month ago I realized I had to do something about this problem after a certain incident. I had been talking to this girl for a couple weeks and had hooked up with her a few times. My band was playing a show one night, so I decided to invite her to see my band play. She showed up about an hour before our set began, and she had brought some other guy that the was seeing. To make a long story short I got so mad about it that I ended up punching that man in the face. I haven't talked to that girl since either. Following this, I've realized that I might have a problem.

I found that this jealousy problem affects my confidence meeting and interacting with women as well. For example, I've been crushing on this girl in class for a while, and a couple days ago she randomly added me on Facebook even though I'd never spoken to her before. I've talked her on there and in class a bit since, and she actually has a lot of the same interests as me. However, at the end of class yesterday I saw her talking to some guy as I left the room, and ended up feeling quite down about it for the rest of the day. Now my entire confidence regarding the situation is completely shot, even though it was just one little thing. Either way, it's managed to greatly discourage me from trying my luck with this one, even though this chick actually seems pretty cool and worth talking to.

Have any of you fellows on here ever dealt with similar issues? What does one do to defeat problems such as this?
