I have made gigantic strides with this over the past ten years, could probably make a good TRP post. But the journey is not yet done.

Now this is not necessarily ating related. I'm just talking about being a more personable/charismatic guy in general.

I thought I plateued but a year ago I got a new group of friends. My sense of humor is changing; I'm saying genuinely funny stuff that I didn't a few years ago (if I had to identify it its I'm making "put down" humor). Part being exposed to new people, part having higher self esteem.

I was a social outcast at an accounting firm for five years. Some days I didn't say a single word to anyone. I now work in a restaurant and it's a lot more lively. I now have a couple friends and it's pretty fun when we're on the same shift.

I can't help but be jealous of people there who can be funny/engaging to almost everyone there. Sometimes I engage in boring "fact exchanges" just to have a conversation going vs them being able to always crack jokes...

I'm not trying to be the most popular. It just sucks with only having good conversations with maybe 20% of the staff and having boring conversations with everyone else. I know I can be funny. I just don't know what to do.
