Preface, I like to go to coffee shops and draw people. A. Good life drawing practice B. Good place to meet new people. Last week I saw a girl sitting alone, and I thought "what the hell?" I went up to her and asked if I could draw her. The world didn't end, she didn't pull out a gun and shoot me, and my head didn't explode. It was a very pleasant experience, and I felt entirely comfortable. We had a great conversation and I gave her the picture I drew of her at the end. I didn't ask for her number bc I'm heading off to BMT(for Air Force) next week. Also I'm just trying to get over the whole "approaching people in public" thing, and I think this was a step in the right direction. After this interaction I thought "well I'll probably never do that again".

But.... Today, same scenario girl alone on laptop. I went for it! Another pleasant experience, and I feel proud of myself. It took awhile to get the courage to do it, but I did it. My hope is that I can compound these cold approaches and become totally comfortable in approaching strangers. I've also made it a point to have little interactions with women when I go out (compliments, asking for time, etc.)

Do you guys have any kind of approaches you like to do? Anything for coffee shops?
