Everywhere I go, I read about how ''the opener doesn't matter'', ''the opener is the least important part of the interaction'', ''how you open doesn't matter'' etc etc.

In my experience so far, I feel as though it's actually super important.

I only do night game.

If I get a warm approach and start a conversation with someone who knows a friend of mine for example, then the interaction often goes well. Me opening her doesn't seem 'odd' to her, since I've been talking to our mutual friend or whatever. I guess I don't seem like a COMPLETE random stranger now

Or if it's a cold approach and the environment 'gives me something' and I can then use a good/funny/interesting observational opener, again, the interaction usually goes well. I sense much less awkwardness and anxiety from her

But most of the time, it's a complete cold approach AND nothing about the environment really gives me an opener I can think of, and so I rely on a simple ''Hey, i'm xxx'' or ''Hey! I wanted to meet you bla bla'' or just ''Hi!'' etc etc, and every time, without fail, the interaction starts out with a very awkward vibe that I feel is too much to overcome, and it's either a super fast rejection (ignored) or it's just a painful, stilted interaction that never gets of the ground

I live in the UK by the way - the culture of talking to strangers isn't quite as rife as it appears to be in the US

If I could get a better handle on the actual open, I feel I could start to improve my results, because other parts of my game are getting better, but I rarely get the chance to practice them because i'm often struggling to get past 'hi'!

Anyone here changed anything in particular in regards to opening girls at night and can share their wisdom? I don't think that there's a MAGIC opener out there, but I strongly feel that there are much better ways (openers) that I haven't stumbled across yet!
